Dry Ice!

Today we worked with Dry Ice! Dry ice is frozen Carbon Dioxide. It's temperature is -109 degrees F! (-78.5 degrees C). Dry ice changes directly from a solid to a gas - sublimation - without going through the liquid state.

Bird of the Week - Introduction

Welcome to the "Bird of the Week" segment of my science blog. There are 30 different birds that you can find in Reading that I want you to learn this year. Each week, I will post a picture of a different bird and information about it. I will also have a link you can click on so you can learn more information about the bird a well as seeing additional pictures of the bird and hearing its song.We will look for these birds in the Bird Garden where we have set up bird feeders. We will also look for these birds around the school and on field trips we take. I will also expect you to be on the lookout for them in your yard, neighborhood, and your daily travels. At the end of the school year, I would expect that you will know all 30 of these birds.
